What does Ben do?

New Responsibilities

In April, after much discussion with his wife, Ben ended his career with in the home theater business. Since then, he has been a stay-at-home Dad. He loves having the opportunity to be home with Matthew and Emma and has a new appreciation for stay at home parents.

Church

Ben's current calling is Stake Technology Specialist. He is responsible for maintaining and supporting all of the computers and networks in the stake and ward clerks offices and family history centers. He is also a member the Emergency Preparedness Committee in his Ward.

Seach and Rescue

In October 2007, Ben joined the Cherokee County SAR team as a volunteer. This SAR team is a special operation of Fire Dept. in his county. They have training a minimum of once a month. He is on standby 24/7 in case he is called on a search or rescue mission.

HAM (Amateur Radio)

On June 21st, Ben past the test to earn his technician license as a amateur radio operator. His call sign is KJ4EXJ. He has enjoyed learning and becoming associated with the world of amateur radio. He has especially enjoyed learning from his Dad by installing a loaned radio in his car and having QSO's (conversations on the radio).

Ben's "free" time

Ben took a web design course in 2007, and during his "free" time he continues to practice and learn new web design and development skills. This website is an example of how much practice his needs.
